Bitcoin And Ether Dealing Is Set For A Pilot Aimed At Brokers And Retail Buyers
Metal · 01 Nov 2026
Brokers and ordinary buyers in Russia are the audience for a Moscow stock venue’s plan to open Bitcoin and Ether dealing, with Dec. 1, 2026 as its pilot target.
The venue’s executive set out the idea at an investment conference in the city on Oct. 31, 2026, and a dollar-pegged token called USDT is meant to be on offer from the first day. Because the service uses the venue’s present stock market system, the arrival of coins would look like a new line in an old catalogue.
Why The Venue Chose Reuse
Rather than build something separate, the venue intends to run the coin service where its shares already run. Brokers that connect today would find the same doorway leading to a longer list of assets, which the venue expects to keep extra costs modest.
Everyone outside the professional circle would arrive through an intermediary, since the venue does not serve customers itself. Partner depositories would keep the coins and the ownership records, and the venue would run the market.
What Remains Unsettled
Rules for retail access were still pending on Nov. 1, 2026. That leaves open the finer points of eligibility and limits, and it is why the December date is described as a target for a pilot instead of a finished rollout.
Picture the path of one order. A customer tells a broker what they want, the broker checks the customer’s eligibility, the order enters the book, a counterpart is found and the depository updates its record. Each handoff is routine, and the routine is the point.
Plain vocabulary goes a long way with stories like this. A venue is a marketplace, a broker is an agent, a depository is a record keeper and a pilot is a trial run. Keep those definitions handy and the rest of the coverage is easy to read.
Markets tend to widen their menus slowly. A venue adds one asset class, watches how participants cope and then considers the next step. The pace is usually set by operational comfort more than by ambition.
People sometimes assume new services launch fully formed. In practice most start narrow, with limited participants and a short list of products, and grow as procedures are proven in daily use.
A target date gives everyone something to plan around. Firms can schedule testing, train staff and prepare communications against it, while understanding that targets can move if conditions require.
